About Rockleigh, NJ Real Estate Market

With just around 600 people being the residents, Rockleigh is one of the least populated boroughs in Bergen County in New Jersey. Rockleigh got recognized as a borough under an act of the New Jersey Legislature introduced in 1923. For the establishment of the borough, some portions of Northvale were included. The name of the borough comes from a property of a similar name in Virginia, which was bought by the first mayor of Rockleigh.

Spread over just 1.01 square miles, Rockleigh is 25 miles away from Manhattan, New York City. Given its proximity to New York and Alpine as one of its surrounding areas, the borough of Rockleigh consists of many single-family homes built on large plots. Most of these homes are large-sized and one of the most desirable homes in Bergen County real estate. Due to the high standards of living, the borough of Rockleigh has a negligible number of people living below the poverty line.

Sharing its borders with Norwood, Alpine and Northvale from Bergen County and Tappan from Rockland County, the borough of Rockleigh is home to the headquarters of a couple of prominent companies like Creston Electronics and Volvo Car USA.
